The Week in Review: From the Runways at New York Fashion Week

Inside Flipboard / September 18, 2015

The leaves of fall might only just be starting to arrive, but that doesn’t stop the fashion world from always looking ahead. September marks the debut of Spring/Summer shows and this week the uber-stylish flocked to the streets of the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week (NYFW).

The city had plenty of big names flashing their style credentials, from Kanye West‘s surprise last-minute show to Instagram favorite The Fat Jew’s “Dad Fashion.” Givenchy’s creative director Riccardo Tisci made his NYFW debut with an “American Dream” themed 9/11 tribute.

With the highest of heels, models sometimes tumble on the catwalk but Opening Ceremony poked fun at the mishaps by blending together models and New York City Ballet dancers to offer a runway filled with stumbles and dance.

As the New York shows draws to a close, the most stylish among us head to London over the weekend to continue walking and watching the runway. With the Milan and Paris fashion weeks to follow, keep up with all the latest trends, celebrity sightings and designer news.
